Albino Alligator at the Academy of Sciences

This is Claude - he is the albino alligator at the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco.

Both shots were taken from the aquarium (Steinhart Aquarium) level which resides beneath the natural history museum proper.

Claude Lurking

Taken through thick 'glass' - the tank walls of Claude's enclosure, an interesting parallax-effect occurs which not only offsets his head from his body, but greatly magnifies the size of Claude's body relative to his head.

Claude - Above and Below

Both taken with the 40mm F1.8 Hexanon - no flash, slow shutter and higher ISO, hence the graininess.  Post processing done in Photogene4.
