Blue Eyed Darner

At Peace in a Favorite Tree

I captured this Blue Eyed Darner resting in a frequent hangout.

Blue Eyed Darner

The composition is not good - even with the Hexanon 28mm, the macro converter limited the field of view due to close focal length vs the sheer size of these very large dragonflies.  Not to mention, I was standing on a ladder on soft soil and carefully trying to cast light on the subject without disturbing.  No amount of creative cropping has proven capable of compensating for poor initial composition...but I like the bokeh, and I'm pleased to have had the opportunity to get up close and personal with this animal.

All post-processing was done on the iPad using Leonardo.  Leonardo has now superseded Snapseed and PS Touch as my photo editor of choice on the iPad.  This app has, in my opinion, redefined photo editing on the tablet, and set the bar high for all other potential contenders.
